The website was developed as part of 'Beelden Buiten 2002 — Fractals', a multidisciplinary exhibition investigating the intersections between art, science and nature. A garden was choosen as an open space for experimentation with the outdoor installations interacting with each other. The idea of the web site was to create an open information space that never has a fixed state, where various content could be 'planted' next to one another creating new relationships. The user had the possibility to arrange the content as he or she chose, either by controlling the layout or by allowing the layout to arrange itself randomly. The exhibition took place in 2002 at Tuin de Brabandere in Tielt, Belgium and was curated by Andrea Wiarda.
